:: Living a victorios life with God ::
Current situation: King Jehoshaphat, ruler of Judah is being pursued by 3 enemy nations, the Moabites, Ammonites and the Meunites.
Learn how to pray right to gain the victory belonging to us. When we are surrounded by
oppositions, obstacles which are against us, we become fearful and discouraged.
The very moment we are gripped by fear, you are defeated because you are frozen. Jehoshaphat understood this concept and told the whole nation to fast and pray. Sometimes, in the needs of crisis, its good to go to the Lord in prayer with our fellow brothers and sisters. Bring alongside your problems to the word of God... for the Bible is the answer to everything….
There are 7 steps which will help us to come out of crisis…
1). Recognise God for who He is. ( 2 chronicles 20: 5-8) Then Jehoshaphat stood up in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem at the temple of the Lord and said “O Lord, God of our fathers, are you not the God who is in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in your hand and no one can withstand you. O our God. Did You not drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel and give it forever to the descendants of Abraham Your friend? They have lived in it and have built in it a sanctuary for Your name.
2). Remember that Jesus is your Saviour!!!!!!!! O our God.( 2 chronicles 7) Did You not drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel and give it forever to the descendants of Abraham Your friend? Sometimes when we sin, we fail, a voice speaks to us to us, planting thoughts in our minds… like “ you’re too insignificant for God to notice”. This are the lies of the enemy which isn’t true. God’s faithfulness endures forever!!!!!!!!!!
3). Stand on the word of God. ( 2 chronicles 9) If calamity comes upon us, whether the sword of judgment, or plague or famine, we will stand in Your presence before this temple that bears Your name and will cry out to you in our distress, You will hear us and save us.
Stand firm, deeply rooted in the word of God. Find strength and comfort in His word. Trust Him!!!
4). Humble yourself. ( 2 chronicles 12) O our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You.
We stand firm in the word of God because we can’t do it on our own. May your eyes be upon Jesus as you look to Him and not your problems.
5). Receive ( 2 chronicles 15-17) Then Jahaziel said “ Listen King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: Do not be afraid of the Assyrian army. For this battle is not yours, but God’s. Tommorrow, march down against them. They will be climbing up the Pass of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the gorge in the desert of Jeruel. You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tommorrow, and the Lord will be with you.
Receive God’s blessings by faith.
6). Praise ( 2 chronicles 20:19-21) Then some Levites from the Kohathites and Korahites stood up and praised the Lord, the God of Israel, with very loud voices. Early in the morning they left for the desert of Tekoa. As they set out, Jehoshaphat stood and said “ Listen to me, people of Judah and Jerusalem, have faith in the Lord your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful.” After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the Lord and to praise Him for the splendour of His holiness as they went, saying: “ Give thanks to the Lord, for His love endures forever”
When we have sought the Lord and received an assurance of God’s protection and intervention, you can begin to offer praise, even before you see the result.
7). Act on the word. ( 2 corinthians 2:14) But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spread everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him.
Obey God and He will surely bless.
Conclusion: King Jehoshaphat had limited resources. He had certain history records of God’s miracles. But we have the entire bible!!!!!!!!!!!!! So we must continue to seek God daily and believe that He is in control. Remember this saying: “Don’t tell God how big your storm is but tell the storm how BIG your God is”
Amen. Hallelujah!
