:: Godless chatter... ::

When we become Christians, we give up the "biggies" like lying, stealing, drinking, cheating, drugs, and fornication. We start spending time with our new-found friends, talking about the Lord, our lives, and what's going on around us in general. Harmless stuff ... or so we think. But let's take a closer look. Many times these conversations are full of judgments, rumors, and hearsay ... all tucked neatly away behind a concerned Christian smile.

Gossiping and talking about worldly and ungodly topics are Godless chatter.

Gossiping is something God really hates. It is said in scripture...
In proverbs 8:13 "the Lord despises evil speech"
In Leviticus 19:16 "do not go about spreading slander"
In pslams 101:5 "he who slanders his neighbour in secret, I will put to silence"

Gossiping can be in many forms.. talking, spreading, listening... It is the devil's tool to destroy your christian life slowly and gradually that you dont realise it... Eventually, it brings you further and further away from God...

Secondly, talking about unnecessary and earthly topics are very common today. Even in my church. People talking about worldly songs and singers, games, tv shows... does it contribute to their christian life? Worse... I've met christians that speech contains dirty content, abusive and vulgar language... words like "you suck man" and "shit you"....

I rebuke you because you are not glorifying our Father in heaven... Think of the unchurched looking at you... what will they think?

Yet, I myself am not worthy to judge... But I am being sanctified everyday and I am becoming more and more perfect in my speech...
James 3:2 " If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his body in check."

Young as a christian you may be but there is no excuse... Keep yourselves in check and reflect everday.. We are to grow in the Lord.. to shed more of ourselves so that we can be more like Him...

Paul warned the christians to avoid godless chatter for they will become more and more ungodly...

Pardon me for my harsh message. But i care for you and i want to get rid of all useless speech in the world... The Holy Spirit has made me into a harsh and passionate preacher... This is my style of preaching... I'm sorry if you don't like it... But I hope you will benefit from this message.. God bless...
