As God's children, we are called to be like Jesus.. to live like Him and be like Him.
Jesus said in revelations 22:12 "Behold, I am coming soon!"
We must live our lives in anticipation of the Lord's return. For many people in church learn that Jesus is coming back but they dont live their lives in the way that they know Jesus is coming back soon.
2 Peter 3:11-12 " You ought to live Holy and Godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming."
Will Jesus go with you to the cinema? Will He be playing computer games with you?
Or
Will He be praying and reading the bible?
Will Jesus be talking about the latest fashions? the results of soccer matches?
Or
Will He be talking about God and His glory?
What if you were watching tv and Jesus came? What if you were busy listening to your secular songs at a concert when Jesus returns? Will you be ready to receive Him??? NO!!!
Ask yourselves before doing anything... "Does this glorify God?", "Will Jesus do this?"
Proverbs 3: 6 " In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He shall make your paths straight"
Let us be like Jesus who throughout this life on earth, manifested the glory of God and seeked to do the work of the Father. Let us not be distracted by the world and the devil..
Because we were planned for God's pleasure, we should live to please Him and to offer up our lives as a living sacrifice.
1 Thessalonians 4:3 "It is God's will that you should be sanctified"
Colossians 3:12 " As God's chosen people, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindess, humility , gentleness and patience. "
In other words, live your life following the 2 greatest commandments.
1. Love the Lord with ALL your heart, ALL your mind and ALL your soul.
2. Love your neighbour as yourself.
Christians.. do not conform to the pattern of this world but seek to do the will of the Father..
2 Corinthians 6:18 "Touch no unclean thing and I will receive you. I will be a Father to you and you shall be my sons and daughters."
In conclusion, let us be like Jesus in john 17:4 " I have glorified You on earth. I have finished the work which You have sent me to do"
